Error codes

What is my spa telling me?

Type in the code on the display, or what the spa is doing, and we will point you at the likely cause and the first thing to try.

  • App / WiFi won't connectDraft, pending verification

The MSpa Link app or LED remote isn’t pairing, usually the pairing steps or a 5GHz network.

Quick fix: Follow the WiFi connection walk-through and use a 2.4GHz network.

  • App says flow is weakDraft, pending verification

Weak flow is almost always a restricted or dirty filter cutting water movement.

Quick fix: Clean or replace the filter cartridge first, then re-check the app.

  • Blank / blanking displayDraft, pending verification

The display has gone blank, MSpa calls this a “blanking” state. The short clip explains what it means and the first thing to try.

Quick fix: Watch the clip, power-cycle at the PRCD plug, and check the control unit is seated.

  • E1Draft, pending verification

A recognised MSpa error code. Portable Spas NZ has official guidance for E1 in the Help Centre.

Quick fix: See the official “E1 and F1 Errors” guidance in the Help Centre.

  • F1Draft, pending verification

A recognised MSpa error code (often flow-related). Portable Spas NZ has official guidance for F1 in the Help Centre.

Quick fix: See the official “E1 and F1 Errors” guidance in the Help Centre.

  • Filter icon flashingDraft, pending verification

A maintenance reminder that the filter needs cleaning or replacing, not a fault.

Quick fix: Rinse or replace the filter cartridge and reseat it, then reset the reminder.

  • No buttons workingDraft, pending verification

The control panel isn’t responding, usually power or a key-lock, not a failure.

Quick fix: Watch the 17-second clip, reset the PRCD plug, and release any key-lock.

  • PRCD / safety plug trippedDraft, pending verification

The safety plug has cut power on a fault. Operating it correctly restores power safely.

Quick fix: Follow the PRCD operation clip to test and reset the plug.

  • Running but not heatingDraft, pending verification

The unit runs but water stays cold. Many MSpa units have a manual heater reset arm that pops after an over-temp or power event.

Quick fix: Access and trip the heater reset arm (see clip); confirm the PRCD hasn’t tripped.

  • Spa is deflating / losing airDraft, pending verification

An inflatable model losing air usually means an unsealed valve or a small puncture.

Quick fix: Check the valves are sealed; patch small punctures with a repair kit.

Codes E1 and F1 link to official guidance. The rest are our working notes until Art signs them off.
